**Stop Press** HIPS update (June 2007)

HOME INFORMATION PACKS DELAYED

The planned introduction of home information packs (HIPs) has been delayed from June 1st until the first of August 2007 and initially it will only be four bedroom homes that require one. The government is planning to phase in the requirement for other sorts of properties between August and the end of the year but at the time of writing no formal timetable has been published.

At Parsons Son And Basley we already have HIP solutions in place and both the Brighton and Hove branch managers have qualified as Domestic Energy Assessors and, in consequence, will be able to produce Energy Performance Certificates (cornerstone of the HIP) for their clients without delay.
